I got into Cornell Johnson and Michigan Ross. I got a full deans scholarship at Ross and 30k per year at Johnson. I don’t know why the higher ranked school gave me a full scholarship and not Johnson.
I want to make a transition into IB and do not have a finance background. I do want to try for the prestigious banks and NY is my location preference. I know Ross isn’t as strong in IB and Johnson has a structured process in place for people like me. I personally do want the handholding and don’t want to have to figure some things out alone, I don’t want any ambiguity in the recruiting process especially since it’s IB.
I am unsure of how recruiting for IB is at Ross but I have spoken to a few people and still don’t have a clear idea. However I love Ross, the business building and the vibe I got. I prefer it to Cornell from that aspect.
The Money aspect bothers me but people have said that If I do get IB which I would have a better chance of getting at Cornell, I can pay it off easily
I do want to have a shot at all the top banks and I know evercore and either JPM or MS don’t come to Ross.
I also like the idea of having an ivy on my resume though I’m not an international considering my undergrad institution was a large state school not in the rankings
Would love to know you’re thoughts on where to go and if I’m making a wrong decision leaving the scholarship to go to Johnson
Thanks!
