I am inclined towards A here. D is also a good choice but IMO it doesn’t give any quantitative comparision between the effects of climate change related reduction and wind turbine related. What is OA anyway?

Reasoning is A attacks the premise we already knows they are getting killed that’s means they are present in that area

D

But idk why it’s the correct one. If we negate it and say that degradation of habitats that is caused by climate change DOES pose a threat to raptor population, how does it tell us that win turbines aren’t gonna be detrimental to the raptor population

It would’ve been correct if the conclusion was that wind turbine is MORE detrimental

Reason why D is correct is it provide an alternative cause of the problem

If that’s true than windmill is a major factor else climate change is a major factor which will occur if windmill are not there

you are not considering the factor although windmill is detrimental but also a life saver because climate change it is preventing

So you’re saying if more wind turbines are installed then the population of raptor won’t decline?

Or they won’t be killed specifically

Maybe climate change would’ve killed more than wind turbines, but that doesn’t mean that wind turbines aren’t gonna kill the raptors

we need to consider overall population not specifics

life saved by windmill + killed

If wind turbines are reducing climate change ,which is a greater threat to raptor population than getting killed by turbines then installing wind turbines will not be as detrimental as the author is saying.

life saved by windmill + killed
Let me try to explain this with a reference.
Suppose there are 2 killers in your city. One killer has a target of killing 100 people and the other killer has a target of killing 50 people. Now the 2nd killer didn’t like the first killer and killed him. After that he went on to kill his target of 50 people.
Now are you going to say that oh the 2nd killer is actually a life safer. He didn’t kill 50 people but instead he actually saved the lives of 50 people that the first killer would’ve taken.
