Can any one help me with this one with an explanation?
In a recent psychological survey, participants aged 40 to 60 were asked to name the song that had made the greatest emotional impact on their lives. Remarkably, in 86 percent of cases, the participant named a song that was popular when he or she was between thirteen and seventeen years old. Clearly, music has an inherently greater emotional effect on teenagers than on people of other ages.

Each of the following, if true, weakens the argument presented above EXCEPT

(A) All of the other questions asked during the survey centered around the participants’ teenage years.

(B) People are more likely to have deeper emotional responses to life events, and to associate contemporaneous songs with those events, during the teenage years than at other times of life.

(C) People tend to retain and recall emotionally infused memories with greater depth, detail, and accuracy than other memories.

(D) People tend to listen to a much greater number of songs during the teenage years than at other times of life.

(E) Most of the songs cited by the survey respondents retained their popularity for twenty or more years.

TIA

yeah I saw this, but the solution doesn’t seem to be right. But many people agreed it to be C. when I tilted more toward B. Hence reached out here for comments.
In my defense, option C doesn’t specify the timeline of occurrence of ’emotionally infused memories’ that it mentions, and the emotionally infused memories can occur at any point of life.

But option B suggested a clear timeline from where people tend to recall emotional memories that are associated with music.

So shouldn’t it be option B?

You are correct when you say that there is no hint of the timeline in option C and that is one of the reason why this option is not weakening the conclusion.

B stresses on emotional responses to life events contemporary to songs with those events but in question it states that music has greater emotional effect, which (C) option defines in straight forward way

The conclusion’s direction is from Music -> emotions, whereas the option B directs in opposite direction

B straight out says " people are more likely to have deeper emotional responces to life events and they associate them with songs"
which implies, its the life events happend at this age that have the emotional effect, not music, thereby
weakening the conclusion.

On the other hand C has effect on the conclusion. Hence C is the ryt choice
