You can speculate all you want about the past but the truth is you will never know for sure. Most you can do is try your best going forward. That could mean focusing on what has been your weaker areas in the past. If there are certain topics that you felt you struggled on during the real test - try to find similar looking questions and study those inside out from multiple angles.

If you are interested in an additional practice test - you may be interested in this test: www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-test/practice-test

Students generally report scores within +-30 points of GMATPrep and the actual test. But there's no guarantee -- still focus less on the number - and more on fully understanding each question to the best of your ability so that you can at least put your best foot forward and hope the test results match your improved abilities.

Hi zainmamood1,

From your post, I assume that you think that some of your recent practice CAT scores are a 100% accurate indicator of what you should score on the Official GMAT. Unfortunately - they don't appear to be completely accurate, as we have TWO Official Scores, they're relatively similar to one another and they're considerably lower than your last 2 CAT scores. While you might be correct about how nerves or timing could have impacted your performance on the Official GMAT, it doesn't change the fact that those are the scores that we have to work with (and that Business Schools will consider "your level"). In addition, there are likely a number of other Test Day factors that you did not account for when you took your CATs (which would artificially 'inflate' your score results - making you think that your ability level was higher than it actually was).

Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
