Has anyone had their interview already? Any insight on the questions? Has it changed from previous years (talking about 5 min presentations)?

Had my interview this morning... Same structure as described on the internet (I've read Clear Admit interview reports and an article at vinceprep - really good article on the interview process for LBS)

Mine just didn't have many questions and I guess lasted a bit more than an hour. He clearly stated that LBS wanted him to understand if my professional experience was really relevant since I'm young and have only 4 yrs WE, with no management exp.
I guess that's why he focused on my WE, daily tasks and main projects.

They really give feedback at the end if you ask and they even say if they are going to recommend you. Be discrete and just ask if they can give u feedback at the end!

Look at vinceprep for interview at LBS, they have all there and several examples of cases for the presentation. Here's the link: https://www.vinceprep.com/interviews/lon ... ess-school

Good luck to all!

Thanks for sharing! Do you mind sharing what the presentation case was that you got for your interview?

Seriously I think you shouldn't worry so much about the presentation. Every single source on the internet and person I've talked to has told me it's a 5 minute presentation to ensure you can structure your thoughts and argument. Plus you're suppose to get a list of topic to pick from. I'd worry much more about getting your story down perfect than the presentation.

I was just given one option for the presentation. But it was very simple. It is similar to the AWA on the GMAT but less complex.
Mine was about a fine dinning restaurant opening a new and more informal one and the old restaurant losing clients because of cheaper prices on the new one.
It didn't ask me to speak profoundly on the case, just to speak on why this was happening and what I would do to ensure profitability on the old restaurant.
The AWA asks for much more that this, but it is similar.
Don't worry too much about this.

My interview is today, in couple of hours. yikes!
The interviewer is an alumni, I think 10 years out, and in an industry that has nothing to do with mine. I think the most notable thing we have in common is love for tech.
Someone posted the Vineprep site. I have used it for all interview prep questions + Fortuna. Just like most I am a little anxious about the 5 min topic presentation but most people have reassured me it is doable and nothing to be scared of.
Wish me luck, and good luck to the rest of you!

I just received an invitation to LBS's English Testing, which seems only open to targeted candidates. Any other international applicants received that?

I have an interview scheduled for next week and also received an invitation to take this english testing. In the video, it is stated that the test will take about 10 minutes, 4 questions will be asked and we will have 30 seconds to prepare and 1 minute and a half to answer. It looks like TOEFL Speaking Section. Does anyone have any idea of what questions are asked?

Same case here...my interview is next week and received the english testing invitation yesterday. No idea about the questions, as you said, looks a lot like TOEFL Speaking Section, I'm just wondering whether it will be more business oriented...

FROM LBS Admissions Blog: London Business School in Chile and Brazil
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sao Paulo Brazil and Santiago de Chile as part of London Business School’s worldwide information sessions.       The first stop was Sao Paulo, where I spent a few days having one to one meetings with those who are interested in studying our Masters programmes. The main event […]

FROM LBS Current Students Blog: Compare & Contrast – EMBA 1st Vs. 2nd Year
Kicking back after a long day at work, I found myself reflecting on how fast time has flown and how my experience at LBS this year compares to that of last year. We have just crossed over the halfway point of year 2, semester 1. Still only a few weeks in, I found myself waking up on Saturday mornings feeling a little disorientated, not having the need to dash off to the LT-10 lecture theatre for the usual 8:15 am tea and catch-up with classmates ahead our second consecutive full day of lectures.

Year 1 had a pre-defined core timetable, which followed regular blocks on alternate weekends. We spent the three semesters working through compulsory core modules that provide a wide range of subject matter. Each study weekend is spent together with your EMBA class. Looking back, its easy to understand why everyone in the class had such a close connection and acted more like a family than simply colleagues as we spent so much time together

Year 2 is totally different. In fact, compared to your fellow EMBA classmates, the 2nd year will likely be a totally different experience for each and everyone. That is because year 2 is all about electives, so you get to focus on the subjects that you are really passionate about. With so many permutations and combinations, no one student will have the same timetable – selecting your timetable is a challenge in itself since it is difficult to narrow down subject selection with so much great content on offer.

Electives also offer a practical upside since students can select the format of electives to fit within their needs, for example weekend classes versus block week electives. Furthermore, electives are all cross stream so you will be mixed with students from MBA, Sloan and MiF programmes which opens doors to more valuable connections.

Year 2 is still pretty fresh but so far it has continued to be a great experience. I have thus far completed Financial Statement Analysis and am half way through World Economy: Problems and Prospects. The content for both has been extremely relevant with practical applications to real life current business affairs. It is only a few more weeks before I take off to Dubai for a block week elective on “Strategic Thinking”.

As with the start of every new term, there is a fresh set of openings to join clubs and opportunities to apply for positions on various executive committees. I have been lucky enough to secure a position on the executive committee of the Investment Management Club, which is one of the largest and most active clubs at LBS. There will be much more to share on this, but in the meantime be sure to join the club as there are lots in the pipeline for the year ahead…

Just had my interview, which was with an alumni who was a partner at a PE firm and had a very different background to mine. It went for 1.5 hours. He was very nice, but I'm not sure how well I did to be honest - it was a bit hard to read how well it was going.

It started off with the usual walk me through CV/why an MBA/why LBS and also some questions about the career choices I made. He then focused quite a bit on leadership and teamwork experiences. He also asked quite a few questions on what international business experience I had as he said that this didn't come through very clearly on my CV. He also asked what my leadership development goals were.

I found the presentation part a bit of a challenge because there were 2 parts to it. It was a case about leading change management - managing restructuring and the fact that people were not happy about it. I was asked to present a) how I would approach this with my team and how much I would share my personal feelings b) Pick one of 3 questions and also talk about that - I picked one that said to describe how to overcome resistance to change. I didn't feel like I had a good conclusion to round off the presentation because the presentation was in 2 parts though I tried to relate them, but the introduction and the points in the middle were fine.

The third part of the interview was where I got to ask questions and he gave me a lot of advice on what I should do to prep and what electives I should take. He also advised that to get the most out of career services, you needed to try and fit within the mould and that you would struggle if they couldn't put you in a box, which happened with him. He also said that if I got admitted, to get in touch with him and he would provide me with prep resources for finance given my lack of finance knowledge, and resources for consulting since that was what I wanted to move into, which was really helpful.

I'm really hoping I get in! He did say being from New Zealand was a bit of a novelty at LBS so I'm counting on that working in my favour :)

at the end of my interview I didn't even asked, it would have been an awkward moment and at the end of the day it's still the school who decides considering other factors. but my interviewer didn't reply to my thank you note...
