Hello,
I am looking for some advice on letter of motivations for German Business Schools. I am considering writting a letter of motivation less conventional focused on telling a 'story' of me, about my experiences, that builds up to why I want to attend the business school, how I can benefit from the business school and how the business school can benefit from having me as a student. But I am not sure whether the admisions office will like this type of letter. Maybe they prefer a more generic, typical letter that follows the usual structure.
Does anyone know anything about this? Any opinions from current/former students.
Thanks,
Valentin
My advice would be to follow the instructions, but take an innovative approach within the confines of those instructions. Right now this seems a bit in the abstract - which school? Would be helpful for you to post the specific prompt. From what I can discern, I like your idea of answering the three big questions: why MBA, why you and why this school.
Dear Farrel,
Thanks for your reply. They just state I need to write a letter of motivation. So I assume I have to answer the big 3 questions. The only limitation is that it should not be longer than 2 pages. I tried to stick to one.
In order I answered:
1. Why this school
2. Why study management
3. What I would do after it / how can I benefit or the school benefit from me attending.
The issue is that there is no guideline, just an option to upload the letter in the application.
Thanks,
Valentin
