Hi All,
I took real GMAT on June 5th, 2017 and scored 660 (Q50, V29). I am disappointed, especially with my verbal score, but would like to give GMAT one more shot. So, I look forward to preparing again and retaking the test in 2 months (1st/2nd week of August).
Could you please help me decide two things?
1. Verbal Prep Course - EmpowerGMAT (99$) vs. E-GMAT (199$)? Money, as well, is a concern.
2. Practice Test - I have exhausted the GMATPrep and MGMAT in my earlier preparation. Veritas Prep Test ($10 till tomorrow) is on my radar - any suggestion on this?
I understand that I can check out the trial and decide which one suits me the best. But unfortunately, the trial version is not helping me decide which one is better than the other.
My Target Score - 720+

Hi Kumar,
With a V29, you have the potential to pick up points in a number of different Verbal 'areas', so it might help you to think in terms of one of your 'weaker' areas. Most GMAT Companies offer some type of free materials (practice problems, Trial Accounts, videos, etc.) that you can use to 'test out' a product before you buy it. Thus, you should see how the various products help you to deal with that one weak spot, then use that experience to choose the one that best matches your personality, timeline and budget.
Assuming that your score goal is still 700+, then you could very easily hit that level in a month (or less). However, it's important to note that you have to adjust how you 'see' (and respond to) the Verbal section to pick up those points. That additional month of study cannot just be about doing more practice questions - you have to learn and practice the proper Tactics so that you can use those same Tactics on Test Day.
If you have any additional questions, then just let me know.
