Hi roy26

Yes, during both the interviews, they confirmed that several Indians applied this year before the 30th November deadline and they will have a tough time scanning through so many applications. I received the admit last week.

My profile:
- Indian, woman, international experience, traveled extensively.
- Graduate: Media Studies and Advertising
- WE: 11 years in Creatives, Operations and Consulting in Media, Digital Media and Sports
- 690 GMAT / 116 TOEFL

Hey ShrishT,

Congratulations for the admit. Clearly you have a very diverse and wonderful profile.
Thoroughly deserved. Are you taking up the offer?

Regards,
Arnab

Hi Ankit,

Yes, 30 in Listening. Did you hear from Mannheim or are you still submitting the video?

Hi Arnab,
Thank you. I mostly would. I am weighing Mannheim against WHU (+scholarship) and Imperial (+scholarship)

How about you. What is your status and whats your decision?

Hi ShrishT, I fluffed my GMAT exam, so planning to retake it before I apply in any colleges.

And I need to take TOFEL/IELTS too? Any tips for these exams?

Thanks,

roy26: Would it be possible to share your thoughts if someone has over 10 years of experience, with a sub-600 or 600 GMAT score.

What are the conversion chances based on your experience? Also, I would glad to know if you could help me understand, what are the factors that you think would have contributed towards converting the school's decision in your favour? I can imagine it could be such a devastating stage, but given the numerous applications from Indians, the B-school gets too spoilt for choices besides they always may have an alternate to limit the admits per country/per region based, just to improve their diversity quotient. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Regards,
Anubhav

Hi Anubhav,

I really hate to disclose it to you but you stand next to zero chances unless your work ex is something radically different from the general technology conulsting/project management etc.
I personally believed that I had a fantastic interview, quite well researched and clear focus on my future goals. I observed Gaby shaking her head in agreement to so many points that I had to say during the interview. My video presentation was decent if not great. I was really hopeful for a convert at Mannheim.

I personal believe Mannheim is now the go-to destination for European B school applicants, so for Indians they're looking at someone with 720+ GMAT irrespective of the work ex.
Or, otherwise a stellar work ex deviant from technology/telecom sectors. But again, if you surely believe you can bring something unique to the table there's no harm in trying.
But they're probably going with the ones with the highest GMAT score this time around.

roy26 AnubhavK

I honestly think it is not only about high GMAT Score. Yes diversity and stellar work experience is important. I really think it is:
- What pre-MBA experience (industry, sector, function), international exposure, leadership qualities, etc. do you bring to the table
- How focused are your post MBA goals - which sector, which industry, what job function
Both of these will be highlighted in your motivation essay
- How well do you know Germany - the place, Mannheim School, the language, how eager are you to learn?

I checked with them, TOEFL is not mandatory in case you have completed your degree in English. This is primarily a requirement for VISA it seems. We need to show the authorities enough proof that you are well versed with English language. So it boils down to the embassy authorities whether they accept or do not accept without a TOEFL. Hi Guys,

Does anyone know is there any online application process or we have to submit the hand-written application form?
Have you guys researched about job prospects in Germany, especially for an Indian (a non-German speaking person).
kindly provide any info if you have.

Hi niks18,

If you plan to have a career in Germany, my strong advice is to learn German - it will be easier for you to make a career there and adapt to a local lifestyle and culture. All in all Germany is a great option if you plan to study in Europe. As for jobs, if you specialize in techinal fields like engineering, software etc i think you will have much more chances to land a nice job :) -
check this website https://www.jobsinberlin.eu/
and this one for Indian students https://www.hindustantimes.com/education ... 12QJK.html

Best,
D.
