A one-year MBA program is not well suited to a career switcher at all. You really need to get an internship to be viable for that post MBA goal in accounting or Finance. Insead does offer a shrt internship for January intake, however I really don't think that they would give you enough depth to justify a career switch in a totally new function. So I do figure instinct is correct that a two-year program might be better suited to your goals.

My goal is a switch from Structured Finance in an investment boutique (structured Finance in banks is usually a capital markets division), to Investment Banking/Leveraged Finance (in a 1st or 2nd tier bank or a leading boutique).

I'm planning to apply for a 1yr MBA in Europe.

Do you think that it's a good option for me?
