Can't thank gmat club team enough for bringing top colleges in MBA spotlight . You guys are doing a great job our blessings are already with you all . Thank you for making GMAT CLUB more valuable platform .

Suggestion - Please organise Q&A section . The chat goes crazy. The generic info is always available on the respective websites of schools . People log in to ask specific questions . So you guys can monitor the questions and club few questions in single one repost it .

Thanks Souvik to you and your team, for bringing up this at GMAT Club. I am thrilled and so much more informed about the schools now, it will certainly help me and many like to finalise the set of schools and programs they want to apply to. Thanks again and take care.

Hi Souvik. Thanks for doing a superb job and getting a wonderful group of bschools and students! The quality info sessions and selection of speakers for group discussions show how much effort has gone into organising this event. At a time when most of us can't visit campuses or connect to b-school representatives in person, this event has been nothing short of a blessing.

Suggestion: It would be great if we can post questions before the session and GMAT Club can select the best ones. This would help in avoiding generic questions for which answers can easily be found on the program's website.

Hi dushyantkanal and gmatway thanks for the suggestions. We are all trying very hard to coordinate the Q&As. Although it may seem to be a bit disorganised (especially if you look at the chat!), I can assure you the questions are getting listed and forwarded to the adcoms. There is an inherent problem with time, an hour is far too less. So in a way you are right in saying that you need to be one of the lucky ones for your question to get selected. The other thing about type of question is that they can't be too specific or too generic, it has to hit the sweet-spot as the sessions are catered for a wide variety of audience. Keep the suggestions coming..

**by the way just from my experience, whenever I have asked specific questions about my profile etc. directly to adcoms in live events, they just come back to you with generic answers. I think they cannot deviate much from a standard template. This is where networking with current students/alums etc. helps!

Hi Souvik,

Really great job from the entire GMAT Club team on execution of the Spotlight. Thank you for soliciting feedback as well. I appreciate the effort to keep Q&A at a high-level and applicable to the entire audience. I'm of the opinion that candidate-specific questions are best answered in smaller sessions (coffee chats, admissions hotlines, etc.), and that questions too generic in nature are easily answered on the website. So far I've felt that the questions raised to presenters have been topical and relevant to me as a passive viewer. Also I have to commend the list of schools participating; sessions are being held by all of my target schools and that is something remarkable!

Great work and effort. Thanks for doing all of this for us!

Suggestions:
1. I second the Q&A concern. The live chat turns out to be a mess when everyone is repeatedly asking the same question. It also looks disrespectful
2. If possible, can we have the profile evaluations chat seperate one from the generic chat? Sometimes, the chat is blocked for hours.
3. I also feel that people are more interested in the prizes than listening to speakers. Maybe if we can streamline the prize distribution through a different channel or time?
4. For the next time, if possible, can we have small group discussions with school students. Informal ones...

BUT, all in all, kudos to the management for organising the fair. Its the first ever, and its close to perfect. A perfect investment during lockdown

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I heard you, and today we did a different Q&A. Did you spot it?

In case you did not, instead of posting questions from users on the screen, I came back to the video and paraphrased questions that I thought were important. Schools appreciated the new format, but I was wondering what you all think!

Even I feel Most of the questions asked in YouTube Chat box are more generic. Which can be easily searched through internet.
But souvik101990 did a great job by being present on the screen itself.
The questions asked by Souvik on behalf of students feel more genuine and elaborated. And give us time to gather more information within the given time frame. Thanks Souvik :)

That's great. Your personal touch took it all the way up. Had there been a score measure, yesterday's would have been the highest among all Spotlight sessions/Q&As till date.
Also, that you were busy moving and relocating these sessions are great work, nonetheless, you must have been tired as well.

Hope this continues with same intensity.

See you today.

I would love to see Bunuel in person, only if s/he exists in person. Way Curious to see him/her. :shh:

Wonderfully planned and done! Probably the best thing to happen the last week, considering the current scenario. Thanks for being a great host, it really helped streamline a lot of the sessions. Most of the questions were answered, but after a couple of sessions, the questions just felt too repeated(not sure why everyone would keep asking the same questions over and over!).

Oh my God!
Those were some action-packed six days of my life. Worked from home for 9 hours straight and then attended ALL the school presentations, Q&A sessions, student panels and the profile evaluation chats. But I can imagine the effort on the organizers' part must be 10x ours.
Can't thank you guys enough for organizing the MBA Spotlight!

souvik101990 - you really have some great skills moderating conversations! (I'm almost certain you took up an elective for this! :P ) Excellent work streamlining our questions and really putting it in a very generalized format so that the majority of attendees can benefit.

The student panels were the highlight for me - hands down! They provided a tremendous amount of insight - made me think in ways and about stuff I hadn't bothered paying attention to.

Had the sessions been distributed over a longer period of time (say 10 days or two weeks), it wouldn't have been so exhausting - maybe even more fruitful and beneficial for participants keen on not missing anything out.

Cheers to the organizing team!
GMATClub has given me a lot and I would love to volunteer in any way possible for any of the future events.
