Notre Dame does not invite everyone to interview. I am fairly certain you got the standard we have everything we need and just need to interview you. I don't think anyone will get a decision before the 20th. Early decision came on October 25th and not a day earlier. The interview will mainly go over your resume and then the standard why Notre Dame, ethics, etc. I did not have a case study question in my interview so I do not think it is a requirement. As such I also can't give you any idea what kind of case study question they might ask. Cheer up, you are almost done, you get to sell yourself to Notre Dame, and the decision comes just in time for Christmas.

I think you are right. My status just changed to awaiting interview. I guess I am a little too worried since studying at Notre Dame is like a dream for me. Thanks for your advice.

As far as the case question, I really don't remember the details of it. Generally speaking though, we just looked over some data and then made inferences. Good luck in your interview! Hopefully everything works out for the best for us both.

I received the application fee waiver from Brian in the email.

Cool, trying to get some idea as to how prevalent that was. I'm guessing it is somewhat similar to the "preferred candidate" emails from previous years.

Glad I can help pscherer and setrock. It is perfectly normal to be nervous about it. Waiting through all of October I was incredibly nervous and kept thinking that I wouldn't get in. I eventually got to the point of not thinking about it and knowing that soon enough I would have my answer. The day phone calls were made I was called around noon and had been anxious all morning. No matter what happens with your application just remember to take things one day at a time and be like a quarterback, always keep the feet moving. As always if anyone has questions don't hesitate to ask.

Prolic - I wouldn't worry about your interview date. Interviews are scheduled based on an individual interviewers schedule and they use more than one person for interviews, so it is just luck of the draw for timing. Also people have schedules change when looking weeks out so I am sure some interviews have to be rescheduled as well. As far as the timing I am positive that they would have a decision for you on the 20th if you are an R1 candidate. More than likely everything is already set and just waiting on interview results or who knows maybe the interview is just a formality for you. It is impossible to know the situation, and they won't tell you, so there is no use worrying about something out of your control. Just keep a positive attitude and know that they thought highly enough of you to want to interview you.

I wanted to wish everyone good luck with your interviews. It is a stressful time waiting for the interview and then waiting for a decision, but I guarantee that patience and positivity pay off in the long run. I know I did my interview in September 27th and waited until October 25th to hear any results so at least you don't have that kind of wait to look forward to.

Lastly "Go Irish" is based on Notre Dame being "The Fighting Irish" therefore saying "Go Irish" is cheering on the Notre Dame community and it is heard at every Notre Dame sporting event. Trust me when I say that if you have not experience Irish football then you are in for a great time when you get to a game. I was lucky enough to be an on field photographer when my alma mater played at Notre Dame and it is something I will never forget. Simply amazing!

Don't expect results before the 20th. Early decisions were released on the 25th of October and from reading past years boards results always come out day of. Best of luck and hope to see you there in the fall.

I did get what my interviewer called "sort of a case based question" in my skype interview. I'm not going to share exactly what was asked, but I was asked to estimate something and take her through my thought process. The interview with ND was probably the most friendly and open Bschool interview I've had. Just be yourself and have a conversation. Now...the waiting game.
