Hello all,

First off, congratulations to those who have already been accepted from Early Decision- must be a relief! I applied for R1 and have already interviewed. I initiated the interview back in September and did the whole campus tour thing. I figured it conveyed my interest in the school and it was also nice to have it out of the way. My application status changed to something along the lines of "not yet complete- your application is being organized and reviewed by the admissions committee". Is this something other R1 applicants are seeing as well?

Good luck to all of you.

I was an early admit, but we saw something along those lines. I think it was Application Under Review. I would just give them a call and see if there is anything else they need from you. Best of luck and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Hi All,
I am late to join the boat, but better late than never.I also applied in Early decision and am in with $$ too.Naturally like everyone I am excited as well .But recently I came across some news ,it said that the school's location is not in 1 of the big cities and hence that might serve to be bit of a detriment to few top recruiters ,what are your perspectives regarding this.Any one knowing someone at NotreDame will be able to throw better light on this.

Thanks and regards,
Siddharth

Siddharth, congrats on the admit, now on to your question. While Notre Dame is not in a major city it is within an hour to hour and a half of Chicago and makes it a target for companies that recruit the Chicago area. Additionally Notre Dame has one of the most extensive alumni networks of any college in the country. Coming from a service academy where the alumni network is very strong, Notre Dame is the only school that I have seen that rivals a service academy for school loyalty. I have a former classmate in the program right now set to graduate in May and she is more than happy with everything that has been going on. Having a recruiter come to campus certainly helps in looking for a job, but if you are trying to get somewhere, in the end it is always up to you to do the work. Drive, determination, and fortitude will get you anywhere you want to go.

Purdue huh? I have spent a lot of time in West Lafayette when my father was the head of the NROTC there. Fun town, definitely have to make it to breakfast club one of these days.

My interview was very relaxed and talked a lot about my resume. There was some personal getting to know you talk in there as well so that was nice. Notre Dame is all about community and that shows not only in what the school does in the surrounding community, but in how the faculty interact with the students and the students with each other. I have been nothing but impressed with the sense of family they create.

Hi Guys,

I got the interview scheduled. Those who have gone through the interview please share your experience and how were the questions. Was it grilling or relaxed. I have it on Skype.

Thanks in advance

I interviewed on campus in September, and it was definitely more conversational than grilling. The questions are designed to assess your fit in the program. Off the top of my head, these are the questions I can remember answering:

1. Why an MBA?
2. Why Mendoza?
3. Describe an ethical dilemma you've encountered in your career and how did you respond?
4. Talk about how you work in teams, both large and small, in your current job.

I also had a brief case question. The interviewer gave me a data set/table to analyze and left the room for ten minutes while I organized my thoughts. He asked me to describe what I gleaned from the data and to provide a short interpretation/recommendation based on my analysis. I don't know how this would be handled over a Skype interview but maybe best to know that such a question could be coming.

We ended by talking about community service and the interviewer answered a few questions I had for him about Notre Dame, the MBA program, and South Bend. Obviously, you should have some questions to ask--the interview is as much an opportunity for you to gather information as it is for them. The entire interview lasted about 65 minutes including some introductory small talk, but the time seemed to pass very quickly. It shouldn't be anything to stress about; I never felt any pressure to give a "right" answer but rather to speak openly and honestly. Good luck.

Hey everyone! Applied R1 and just got an interview request! SOOOO EXCITED. I'm currently living in Uganda and I doubt they have any alumni here, so it will mostly likely be via skype. Anyone that applied Early Decision have a skype interview with ND? Best of luck to everyone! Go Irish!
