Yeah probably. For me I'm going to go up the day before which will probably require at least a half vacation day, so a Thursday spot would require more and Tuesday would probably require me taking the next day off. Also seemed like more events and stuff too.

Hi everyone - I signed up for a Skype interview. Skype interviews are scheduled Monday to Wednesday (Jan 23-25) and when I signed up there were about 14 slots left. So, even if you weren't invited to InterviewFest, do not despair yet!

Don't know for sure, but it at least means there's a possibility they'll contact more people.

Are the spots getting filled up as people select skype interviews? Or these remain for in person interviews?

Pretty sure Skype interviews are not effecting the number of in-person slots available.

So, with the Skype interviews and InterviewFest, would you say there's about 100-120? Trying to figure out my chances here.

Thank you so much GradQueen. I'm trying to not be too optimistic, but enough that I can nail this interview. I've got my flight booked, (also was 177 dollars round trip, score!) just need to write the essay, and prepare. I don't want to think I have this in the bag, because it's been a dream of mine for so long, and it might now be a reality. I've wanted this since I was 10. I just can't imagine getting this far, and having to try again. But, keep trying I guess!

I know you'll be doing tons of prep-work, but I'll post the details of my Skype interview after the fact (since it will be before InterviewFest). It's also 30-45 minutes so I'm assuming it'll be a similar (if not the same) format as the in-person interviews.

PS Hopeful2018 - I'm also super nervous but trying to ride the happy vibes from yesterday and rocking out to some music to keep myself calm (hopefully this works for two weeks...)

Tuesday, Jan 24th at 4PM EST - that means bright and early Wednesday, 5AM China time! Unfortunately all of the options were quite late at night or early in the morning for me. I usually consider myself an early riser, but I'm pretty sure I rarely talk to anyone before 7AM haha. This should be interesting.
