Hi everyone, hope you are fine and I can't wait to meet all of you next winter :-D
I applied to John Molson MBA program in last May, got my offer of admission in the 30th of June and accepted it 15th of July.
Last week I received an email notification that I have been awarded 5K Scholarship 8-) .
Regarding learning French: no I haven't started yet
Regarding visa process: no I haven't started either
why? ... procrastination :lol:
Is there any Facebook or whatsapp group of John Molson MBA class of Winter 2017?

Hi All!

I am applying to MSc Finance program at JMSB for Fall 2017. Did any of the international students get scholarships? And a stupid question :lol: : does "sealed envelope" mean that it needs to be stamped or just closed and signed by a referee?

I am yet to apply as well (retaking GMAT late February). I took GMAT in December but had nausea so spent 10 minutes of precious time puking in the bathrom :/ result - 45 on quant, 27 on verbal :cry:
I do not have any work experience except summer internship (I'm still at school haha). How about you?
Btw I e-mailed Ayanna and she said that the envelope just needs to be closed and signed.

Oh ok! ya you should take GMAT again. I have around 4 years of work ex in US financial markets. Though I am an engineer. and that inconsistency actually worries me. How about you? whats your undergrad ?

Engineering degree + work experience in finance should work out very well for you. I'd apply straight to MBA if I were you! It will be much easier to get a job in Canada with MBA rather than MSc. Main reason why I am applying for MScF is because they do not require work experience.
I am studying BBA with a focus on finance.

Hi,

I have got an admit from John Molson and DeGoorte . I have Engineering Degree and worked in Software for 7 years.

I am inclining towards John Molson as its cheaper than DeGroote but my apprehension is about the job market post graduation. Ontario ha a lot of opportunities but I am not quite sure about Montreal. Can someone please advise !

Hi,

Yeah, both options are good. Concordia is a decent university. However, Quebec has a lot of rules and, as you said Ontario as a province is better due to the job market. Also, Degroote is quite reputed in Ontario. If you can afford it I think you should choose Degroote.

Hi,

I guess, it is mandatory to send 3 letter of references to JMSB. You need to upload the letters on online portal. It will help admission committee to speed up the admission process. Also, you have to courier those letters.
