4. The primary purpose of the passage is to

(A) take issue with the way in which most governments today handle the problems involved with taxing barter transactions
(B) discuss recent, non-traditional ways in which bartering is used, and to present some of the ramifications of this use. (This is a correct choice, as this is a manifestation of ideas regarding bartering. We need to make a dichotomy between these two concepts: showing the reasons, and writing a passage just to describe a phenomenon.)
(C) persuade the reader that bartering transactions are as legitimate as those that involve traditional currency
(D) provide some of the reasons for and against the widespread use of bartering This is incorrect, as the passage doesn't really state the reasons for this phenomenon at all.)
(E) show that bartering will not become as popular as other types of financial transactions until the tax issues associated with bartering are resolved

As I have failed on this question (I opted for D :( ), I think I should make some amendments on my reading ability in order to reinforce it in a persuasive way :D
