Hi nashbird,

To start, a V46 is an outstanding performance in the Verbal section, so if you can consistently perform at that level, then you could potentially score well into the mid-700s (or higher). While you probably do not need to work on Verbal at this point, we should pay careful attention to how you perform on your practice CATs/mocks going forward (to make sure that there aren't any inconsistencies in how you handle that section).

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on your timeline and your goals:

1) What is your overall goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

EMPOWERgmatRichC I am fairly confident I can keep at this score in the Verbal section. I've been teaching English for the SAT/ACT for a few years now and feel very comfortable with the GMAT format as well so I'm hoping it can get better.

To answer your questions:

1) 700+ hopefully
2) I'm not in a rush so whenever I feel ready. I would ideally like to take it before the summer but I'm flexible on that
3) Next year for the Fall 2021 intake
4) Undecided

Hi nashbird,

Studying for the GMAT now - far in advance of when you will actually "need" your Score - is a smart choice. Since you're not in any immediate rush to take the GMAT, you might consider working on your general math skills before focusing on your GMAT Quant skills. For free math practice and help, I recommend that you set up an account at Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org). The site is completely free and makes the learning a bit more fun and 'game-like' (as opposed to the dry academic approach taken by most books). While the site is vast, you should limit your studies to basic Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry. After spending a little time re-building those skills, you can start your GMAT studies.
