Hi guys
I have been preparing for GMAT for more than six months. I was looking to get a score in the range of 620 - 650. I took 5
MGMAT CAT's and GMAT Prep CAT's over the last two months and these were my scores.
MGMAT CAT-2- 580, Q- 40, V-31), GMAT Prep-1- (560, Q -35, V -31 ,)
MGMAT CAT-3-(590, Q -38, V -34),
MGMAT CAT-4 : (550 Q-38,V -28),
MGMAT CAT -5 (580 Q- 38, V -31),
MGMAT CAT -6 (590 Q -40, V-32), GMAT PRep 2- (560 Q-40, V-24)
Yesterday was my D- day. I got the same score as my last GMAT Prep test which i took 4 days before my actual exam. GMAT Exam- 540 (Q -39 & V -24). Disappointed!
I have shortlisted a list of univs for which i would need a minimum of 620 (Q-45 & V-30) to a maximum of 650 (Q-48 & V-32). I would be very happy if i score some where between 620 to 650 within a span of one month or so.
As i am a working professional, I have planned to devote around 6 hours of study on weekdays and even more on weekends in order to achieve my target score.
My preparation material -
MGMAT book set,
OG 2013, Offical guide quant and verbal. GMAT club Math and Verbal books.
Can you guys give me some tips/ Study plan/ Study drills that will help me to acheive my target score ? Please guys , I need some expert guidance on this.
P.S: I have exhausted all 6 mock tests from
MGMAT, Veritas Prep free CAT & Question bank, GMAT club free CATS & GMAT Prep EP-1. However i am looking to purchase GMAT Prep EP -2!
Thanks & Regards
Girish
Hi Girish,
I would highly encourage you to aim a little higher. Even if you are scoring low right now it doesn’t imply that you will not get better. I have met several people who started really low but have nonetheless scored enviable scores and made it to top business schools. It’s a good thing you have taken your GMAT once. You now know your weaknesses and work on them. If you are willing to study dedicatedly for Three months, you are sure to achieve your goal. I believe you may benefit from taking a GMATPREP course. If you are willing, there are some great GMAT prep companies that can help you with your preparation.
In order to make an informed decision I would highly encourage you to go to their websites and try on their free trial and decide for yourself which one do you like better. Further I see you are a new member here at GMATCLUB and when you sign up at GMATCLUB you get a free 3 days access to EMPOWERgmat course. You can also try free access to
Magoosh and Optimus Prep so try those out as well.
Also for verbal, I would highly encourage you to consider
e-gmat verbal online or the
e-gmat verbal live course. They are both amazing courses especially designed for non-natives. They offer almost 25% of their courses for free so you can try out their free trial to decide which one you want to go for. Plus the
e-gmat Scholaranium which is included in both the courses is one of the best verbal practice tools in the market.
I must add that if you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in quant; a subscription to
GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them.
I would also encourage you to purchase the latest version of
OG and the verbal review for some great additional practice. Here is a link that will help you with your decision.
