Total = 44.

Men = 22 of which 12 have a degree (D), meaning 10 do not have a degree (ND).
Women = 22.

We are given total ND = 14. So Women ND --> x + 10 = 14 --> 4.
Now Women D = 22 - 4 = 18.

Men = 22 ; Women = 22

Men College Degree = 12 ; Men No College Degree = 10

Total 14 have no degree , and we know men not having no degree is 10

So, 4 women have no degree...

Thus, Women having college degrees is 22- 4 =18

Thus, answer will be (C)

Total members with degree = 44 – 14 = 30
Women with degree = 30 - 12 = 18

Breakdown and workout-
Quote:
If half of the 44 members of the class are women, how many women in the class have college degrees?
Men = 22 , Women = 22
Quote:
12 men have a college degree
Men with College Degree = 12 ; Men without college degree = 10
Quote:
14 of the members have no degree.
No Degree = 14 , Degree = 30
So, Women with College Degree is 30 - 12 = 18

Thus, answer will be (C) 18

We are given that 12 men have college degrees and 14 members do not. We are also given that half of the 44 members are women, so there are 22 women and 22 men. Since 12 men have college degrees, 22 - 12 = 10 men do not have college degrees.

Since 14 total members do not have college degrees, 14 - 10 = 4 women do not have college degrees.

Thus, since there are 22 women, 4 of whom do not have college degrees, 22 - 4 = 18 women have college degrees.

Alternate solution:

We are given that the class has 44 members, 14 of whom don’t have college degrees, thus, 30 have college degrees.

Since 12 men have college degrees, 30 - 12 = 18 women have college degrees.

Answer: C
