I am a current student at PGPX, IIMA.
Average age for IIM is around 31 years. IIM is definitely the right place for you as:-
i) ISB prefers younger applicants and most of the class would be much younger
ii) The level of peer learning that you get here at IIMA is mainly because of the rich experience of the participants. This would be hampered if participants were much younger.
I have 4 years of work ex. Will my lesser work experience go against my candidature?

No, it won't. There are quite a few candidates with 4 years of experience in the batch (that is the minimum experience criteria for admission). So, a lower experience doesn't hurt you really. What matters is the quality of experience and how you are able to justify the reason for doing an MBA in your application and essays. Also, people with lower experience are expected to have a higher GMAT, unless of course you are from a niche background
