Did anybody else get an invite to “Come Experience Chicago Booth” and visit campus?
Is it indicative of my status? Do you recommend that I go to show my interest?

I created a Chicago Booth chatroom on the new GMAT Club Chat. Would be great for interview/decision dates and also a new AMA event that's coming up on Tuesday by kmwantstogoschool

Sorry to hear about the result SudsMeister

But you should not lose hope.
MBA admission process is complex, challenging, and subjective. Often it takes two or three attempts to gain admit to your desired MBA program. I have personally helped many reapplicants make it to their dream school.

If you are looking to reapply, these articles will help you:

If you want to get a profile evaluation - feel free to email me at mail@vibranture.com and we can talk about it.

Omg kmwantstogoschool

I want to stand up and clap and post this on the homepage of my website.

Thank you for vulnerably sharing your experience for the benefit of others with regards to the recruitment process and the research and discipline that you need to invest.

It's my firm belief that business school is for execution not exploration because it's $200,000 and you don't want to get stuck with a huge bill at the end of it with nothing to show for it. There's so much you can do before starting.

We’ve discussed this 750 story threadbare!

As far as advice goes - I think it’s very important for incoming students to talk to people already at Booth and come in with a clear understanding of what they want to recruit for - What is Plan A, what is Plan B etc.
I got super lazy after the admit and did no research, went into Booth thinking I would recruit for some kind of strategy role in a CPG co. And only found out once I got in that a lot of the Corp Strat roles I thought of recruiting for so not sponsor internationals.
I pivoted to consulting last minute and was running blind for the first couple of weeks. The Booth year starts later than other schools and recruiting will hit you very hard very fast. You’re only compounding your problems by not having a plan! So yes research research research and come prepared with a recruiting Plan A and Plan B; the school has enough resources to get you the job you want provided you have a clear idea of what you want.

Also stunned MBAThrow187565

I'm sorry this happened I'm sure that completely sucks.

What I'm seeing now is the statistical angle which is super attractive and what I'm thinking is that either your recommenders or your essays or your resume went the wrong direction. Or goals.

I think it's really important that you get some feedback on your application if you plan to reapply, I always tell people once they review their application it is never a mystery to me what had happened.

These are automated emails that go out to everyone on the mailing list. However, it doesn’t hurt to show interest and learn more about the school!

LilLilac if you are in the Great Lakes area, sure, but to be honest, I feel that applicants overestimate the importance of visiting the campus. My strongest recommendation would be to contact alumni (via LinkedIn - the school kind of cherry picks) and speak to them over Skype. Get to know the program by speaking with people 1-1. I do recommend visiting the campus after receiving admits to get that "gut check," applicants usually underestimate the differences between business schools. The culture, environment and overall vibe varies widely and it's so important to join the right family. Hope this helps.

For everyone waiting on Booth, here’s what you should expect the next few weeks:

-February 23: Last day of interviews for Round 2

-March 5: Round 1 waitlisted applicants will begin to get news of admit, deny, or continue waitlist. Keep in mind this is rolling until March 18.

-March 18: All admitted Round 2 applicants will get a call from Booth notifying them. Everyone that doesn’t receive a call will get a decision on the portal the next day of either deny or waitlist.

-March 19: Round 2 decision release. No calls, likely no emails, just portal updates.

Best of luck to everyone anxiously waiting!

Hey does anybody know if they review applications and extend interview offers in between rounds? For the full-time program? in other words would it be worth it to apply prior to the R3 deadline?

No, they only review completed applications after the round deadline has passed. So, even if you apply now, it wouldn’t get reviewed until round 3.

From someone who was invited to interview in round 2. Booth gives you a date you must complete your interview by. Regardless of if it extended past this date, admit calls go out March 18. Good luck!

I can confirm that February 23 is not completely accurate.

February 23 is the final date for off-campus interviews. March 2 is the final date for on-campus interviews.
