How did you approach/prepare for the interview process? How long did you prepare for?
I don’t like to over prepare for interviews so I didn’t go very hard with the prep. I worked on making my “Why Booth” answer relatable, personal and structured. A lot of it had to do with the Chicago Approach which I found uniquely resonant. Also had a why MBA answer that was sort of prepared. The rest of it honestly I was confident that I would be able to talk about stuff on my resume without sounding disingenuous, same with my motivations etc.
Yes I also worked on my strength and weakness answers just to make sure I didn’t ramble.
The interview was nothing I could have prepared for. The interviewer had done his research and it ended up being more of a freewheeling chat. I did have one chink in my armour, having quit a job in ten months to join another - he told me up front that “that’s the only thing that concerns me a little - why did you do it?” I shared my reasons and he seemed convinced and yeah that was that! So I guess if there are any obvious gaps or such like on your resume you have to be prepared to talk about those.
