how long should it take to read article 1 ?

It could varies person to person based on one's speed of reading and level of comprehension. At average I think 6-7 minutes are needed to read the complete article. The best way to know exactly is to read it by yourself :)

hmm but i think we have to read it like we are doing the GMAT correct ? Long articles like this should be reading 4 mins max i think


I would take the proportionate time to read the article. Try to keep the GMAT pace. Brisk. Use the timer!
Obviously these differ from article to article but I will put the target reading time based on the multiple of words. E.g. if GMAT article is 200 words and the Economist is 400 words, then you would have 2x the time, which on average ends up about 8 mins (4 min being the average length reading). This is just an example. I actually have not run the numbers yet :angel:
