Hello experts,

I've been studying for GMAT for close to more than 2 months now, I had it scheduled for the 20th last month but rescheduled it to next month (Sept) 8 (Before taking a 12 days break) after scoring poorly in mocks.

Below are my mock scores;

Magoosh 24 13 330
Magoosh 26 24 430
Veritas 42 26 570
Manhattan Cat 38 24 520

How should I strategize my next 34 days given I've already exhausted Magoosh Question bank, OG 22 question bank. I want to score a 700+

Thank you!!

Might be worth taking one of the two free Official Mocks. There are 4 extra paid ones you can later get. I've suggested Manhattan Prep's 6th Edition for SC and CR to students. At a V25ish level, it's probably fair to say there are fundamentals that are still slippery.

There's a downloadable excel Idiom list on the GMAT Knight blog that may be helpful for SC, too.

Hi Aarya20

Have you taken any of the official mocks? If not, you should take one asap. Those are believed to be the closest indicator of your actual prep level and score. It will help you analyse your exact level and plan the road ahead accordingly. As for the third party mock scores, you seem to have a lot of conceptual gaps based on it. You may need to start from scratch, revisit the concepts and get a clear understanding of them before you solve the questions. Only if you master the fundamentals, you can cross that barrier to score well.

Coming to study plan, I need a little more information about your GMAT preparation to provide you with a plan of action. I would like to know more about

  • the way you prepared till now (your study strategy)
  • no. of hours being devoted by you to studies every day
  • your approach of solving questions
  • the resources you have used

Answers to these questions will help me guide you in a better way. And I personally suggest to go for the exam only after you prepared well and are 100% confident. It’s always better to spare some more time on your preparation until you are ready instead of missing out on your dream colleges/ b-schools in hurry.

You can always write back to me here or DM me to have a discussion. Would be happy to help!

Answering your questions;
No, I haven't taken an official mock test yet, planning to in the coming week.

The following has been my preparation and strategy till date;

1. All Magoosh lessons and Question bank.

Strategies:

1. Revising the GMATClub's math book and trying different strategies for different Quant questions.
2. Revising GMAT Verbal review (found on GMATClub) that encompasses everything Verbal from different resources.
3. Revising GIN's RC technique.
4. Applying meaning based approach on SC.
5. Solving OFFICIAL questions (15 questions each section) only from all difficulty level found on GMATClub.

Time put in:

4-5 hours everyday for the last 1.5 months consistently before taking a break.
