Alright people, seriously, you all need to get a grip. PR isn't firing their employees, and there are no mass layoffs or anything of the sort (a friend of mine works there, and it's business as usual - everything is fine).
Cartman is right - and virtually ALL software released today has bugs. Sometimes there are certain elements to a software that are incompatible with your computer set-up (and vice versa). If you're running into really screwy stuff, trust me, something either went wrong with that particular CD or you're not set up right. If all of the 2004 CDs on the market from PR were like that, they would have yanked it off the shelves. It's very easy for a single CD to get messed up and make the software do inexplicable things, while the next CD works just fine. Same thing with a bottle of wine - one's fine, the next one's corked (i.e., rotten cork and it's soured the wine). One sweater is perfectly stitched, the next one has a pull. It's only a big deal if you let it become one.
Stop wasting time and negative energy complaining about it to people who can't do anything to help you fix the problem. Call technical support, let them help you figure out what is wrong and if they can't fix it, ask for a replacement CD (just be sure to completely uninstall the first one before installing the new one - and don't delete it, uninstall it!).
Sheesh.
