Hi khnavneet,
Thanks for sharing your profile with us! You have an impressive amount of work experience (including internationally outside your home country, which is always a plus). However, that same asset will most likely prove to be your biggest obstacle in an MBA application as well. In terms of both age and work tenure, you're pretty far above the average for most top MBA programs, so I agree that you'll be best off targeting executive MBA programs. One-year full-time MBA programs like all the European schools that you mentioned are a possibility, but your profile fits best with either one-year programs that are specifically targeted towards mid-career professionals (like the Stanford MSx) or executive MBA programs, which tend to be part-time (evenings or weekends).
For any of these programs, your most critical task will be persuading admissions committees (AdComs) why *now* is the time for you to get an MBA, after a decade in real estate, and why it makes sense for you to switch careers to corporate strategy or business consulting. Why didn't you make this switch sooner? Why are you drawn to corporate strategy or business consulting, and what skills / experience do you have that will be transferable to these new career fields? What specifically do you need to learn or acquire in business school to help you make that switch? The longer an applicant has been in the workforce before applying to business school, the more compelling his or her answers to these questions need to be in the personal essays. If you have recommenders who can speak to these questions in their letters as well, that will also help your case.
I hope this is helpful! If you'd like to chat further with us, please feel free to set up a free consultation via
