Hi InvGuy! Overall I think you have a really strong (and unique) profile! Not many applicants from Central Asia so that will be a plus. But moreso, your work experience and mix of non-profit / investing work is quite unique. Social impact is a desirable field for MBAs so your experience would be a very valued perspective in a class. Your post MBA goals make sense to me too!
I agree that while your GPAs look strong, the GMAT is your biggest challenge. Getting into an M7 with a 690 is not impossible, but your chances would greatly improve if you could score over 700.
Feel free to keep us posted, and if you have any further questions!

Hi,
pls, evaluate my profile.
I am 29. I am from Central Asia (think of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan). Married.
Completed 5-year degree in Moscow (GPA 3.95/5.0) at a reputable university (top 5 university, the most difficult department, top 20% of the class), and post-graduate degree (4.6/5.0) with a full scholarship.
Worked 1.5 years at the family office (equity research analyst), then 3.5 years at venture capital firm (promoted thrice) (all in Moscow), core member of fundraising team (we fundraised for new fund $100m).
Then decided to come back (to Central Asia) to work at the non-for-profit organization (one of the biggest in the world) to lead the investment department (startups, SMEs, venture capital, acceleration program). It is all about supporting women and youth enterprises in rural regions, social impact. Building everything from scratch. Worked as an independent investment expert in a number of different projects in CIS region.
My LT goal: set up an investment fund to invest in SMEs across Central Asia. My ST goal: to work at an international corporation (IFC, EBRD) with the focus on Central Asia or other developing countries.
I have more than 10 publications including ones in Scopus, chapter in a book on investment valuation for students, assisted professor to conduct classes for bachelors.
Completed two levels of CFA exam, awaiting results of 3rd level. Passed Russain local exams on financial markets.
GMAT 690 (low verbal), will take soon again.
Extra: acted as a head of a sport club at university dorm, organize financial contests among students on a yearly basis in my home country (more than 500 participants). Top 1% among all high school students in the country during the exam (analog of SAT).
Member of different professional clubs and associations (mentoring, trainings for students in my home country).
My goal is M7 schools.
Pls provide your feedback.
