Hi All, so I recently took my GMAT and receive a 710 - 48Q, 38V 8IR 6AWA. While I assumed that finally having my score would help me narrow down my school range, I still have a ton of doubt about my school choices.
GMAT: 710 - 48Q, 38V 8IR 6AWA (taking again in 2 weeks for a final try, figures I do well in the stuff that doesn't matter!)
GPA 3.6, (3.8 Final 2 years) Cum Laude, Top 35 undergrad Business School (Public State school)
WE: 4 years at big 4 public accounting, (the one with the great consulting practice.... except I worked in audit lol). Current job function is in internal innovation/technology group at same company. Constant promotions and good ratings during my tenure
Certifications: CPA
Volunteer: Big Brothers Big Sisters, MS Society, and heavy recruiting involvement for my firm (running programs, not just visiting campus)
Reason for MBA: Currently really like my internal role, which is leading teams developing internal technology applications. Seeking an MBA to allow myself to expand a similar product management role / strategy role in a different industry, not just my current accounting based industry.
Applying Rd 1 all
Reach: Dartmouth, Duke, UCLA
Mid Range?: UNC
Safety: Ohio State, Foster Washington
Based on the research I've done the above groupings is how I anticipate I fit in at each school, but am looking for feedback. I am visiting each school and interviewing at all that have an open interview season. If it was up to me I would add 1-2 more schools, but unfortunately my recommenders are tight on time in their own lives and I can't ask them to write a million rec letters. Should I be targeting more schools in the 13-8 range? Should I get some decisions in December and maybe apply in January if I don't like my results? I know I am not HSB material, but it's so hard to judge where you actually have an ok chance!
Thanks for any advice!
