HI Param,

Your work profile looks good and suggests a lot of leadership opportunities. Its not clear how many years of experience have you accumulated so far? Four or more will put you in the sweeet spot for most MBA programs, so I am not concerned about this as such, because it sounds like you do have 5 years under your belt. In both your jobs, it will be important to bring out your achievements and impact on the business. For example, as a client lead, what exactly do you do and how have you made the business better? For the startup experience- were you directly involved in the international expansion (that would be golden!)? Having a client-focused side gig which you have been able to sustain for 4-5 years is an achievement in itself. So putting all this together, your work profile is likely to emerge as very strong. You must do justice to your resume by chronicling your achievements and impact in an impactful manner. I have been seeing far too many dull resumes this year that undersell applicants because they are loaded with responsibilities and personal achievements, without any mention of what you helped the business achieve.
Given that you talked about working with international clients as part of your business experience and worked with European clients at the startup, you possibly have some international exposure and can bring out some  relevant insights. That said, its desirable to have international exposure in your profile, but its mostly not a requirement. You can still bring out the adaptability and interpersonal skills one usually develops through international experience via your repertoire of stories and examples.
The Robin Hood Army experience sounds good- I have been a Robin myself, so know what commitment people work with and highly rate this experience. The best thing about RHA is that you can self start drives - and i will encourage you to do that so that you can build some depth here (and ofcourse there's the satisfaction of helping fulfil people's basic needs)
Your post MBA aspirations will need some more thought and research. If you already have a business idea, you will be better off working upon it now as opposed to joining an MBA. Entrepreneurship immediately after MBA can be challenging because of the cost burden of the MBA education. Again, VC jobs are very few out of campus, so I'd ask you to do sufficient  research by talking to students at your target MBA programs and finding out the possibilities for you as an international student (will the companies sponsor visa?). Overall, you will need to put deeper thought in the goals before you start to frame your goals statement.
The non IIT college tag- if you are a solid applicant, this won't stop you from reaching the top MBA programs.

@param.24 - interesting profile. Some thoughts:

1. The GRE and GPA are good. Have there been any folks from your undergrad who joined M7/ US Top-10? Some precedence can help.

2. Your work-ex is interesting, given the mix of tech and entrepreneurial angles. Would like to understand your professional arc better e.g. key projects/ achievements, skillsets you've picked up, have you led teams, etc. These would also help build a strong one-pager CV

3. The post-MBA goals (short-term and long-term) need more directional clarity. It'd be crucial to have a strong narrative linking your skill-sets, motivation for your career goals and how/ why an MBA will help at this juncture.

3. Some Extracurriculars you've mentioned seem a bit outdated: are there any post college? Recency and consistency are key when it comes to ECA's, to establish personal growth.

Hope this helps a bit. Feel free to reach out through the links below for a deeper chat.

Arvind

Hi param.24,

Your overall profile seems great.

Looking at the 3 categories:

Academics: Great GPA, GRE, and TOEFL scores.
Work experience: It seems scattered, we need to strategize and highlight the right skills learned, your comprehensive objective for pursuing an MBA, and your short and long-term goals, that will help you better present your narrative to the Admissions committee.
ECs: Your overall ECs and community service will support your applications to HSW

We have helped a considerable amount of students with challenges similar to yours get into M7 and other top-ranking business schools. We recommend connecting with our MBA experts to understand your profile and guide you effectively. You can book a free consultation with the team to work on the further roadmap.

Hi Param - you have a good profile, and you should make it to a top 12 - 15 for sure. Whether you make it to HSW or M7 depends on the kind of impact that you've had at some of your roles. That is not immediately clear from your writeup.

If you fele you've created significant impact, then your candidature will be strong.

Even so - I think in your case, we are at the point where I wouldn't be able to predict odds beyond what I've shared. I would encourage you to apply, and be optimistic.

With good essays, etc. you should be able to maximize your chances (there is always the element of uncertainty - so please include targets and safes)

Hello,

Your GPA and EC's look on the brighter side, speaking about a working for start-up and interest in starting a new venture in your application will surely be an asset while applying for an MBA program in any school. Irrespective of your fine GPA and career plans, you will still need to aim for a much on application drafts. The programs you are targeting are top-notch ones and considering you are an Indian candidate the expectations will be a lot higher from you.
You are anyways eligible to apply for B-Schools listed above with a GRE 330 and good work experience of 4 years along your current profile but all it matters now is the story that you convey to the admissions committee through applications.

You can try our unique tool to know your "Chances for B school" or feel free to get in touch with us to have a brief discussion on your profile for Harvard and Stanford MBA programs.

Hi, I got early release from Harvard and Wharton. I'm waitlisted for MIT Sloan and awaiting decision on other schools' applications.

How do I increase my chances of converting the waitlist to an interview for MIT Sloan?

Regards,
Param
