Hello all,
I'd greatly appreciate any feedback/evaluation/suggestion thrown my way -
Grades are as follows,
- Roughly around the 3/4 GPA mark. (One of the top 5 commerce colleges in India).
- Roughly around 3.5/4 GPA mark in an undergraduate diploma in Finance. (Again, one of the top 5 commerce colleges in India).
- Expecting to score between 320 and 330 in the GRE.
- Expecting a good TOEFL score (105-110)
Work Experience,
- Internship at Goldman Sachs
- Currently working at Goldman Sachs (Would have completed 2 years by the time I join the MSF program).
- Volunteer work at U&I India for one year (teaching English to the less fortunate).
Additionally,
- Recognition on various accounts at workplace such as enhancing processes, initiating projects etc.
- Professional cricket player (captained numerous teams across age groups such as U-16, U-19, U-22 etc).
- Very strong communication and writing skills
- Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
- Confident of receiving strong Letter of recommendation from senior people at Goldman Sachs.
Schools I'm targeting -
- Rochester
- University of Maryland
- University of Minnesota
- University of Florida
- The dream would be Urbana Champaign.
Open to suggestions, do let me know where I stand and what the odds are.

Hi Abhi,
You seem to be well within the class profile ranges of these programs, therefore I'd encourage you to apply to all of them, and maybe add 1-2 programs which are a bit of a stretch to get into. Always give a shot to an aspirational program.
Crucial element in the application will be to have a purpose for doing an MSF; this purpose is always driven by what you have done so far and what you wish to do in the future. For this same reason, b-schools ask for the SOP from MS applicants.
