Hello all,
I would like to request a profile evaluation.
Any advice is greatly appreciated! (Especially with regards to schools to apply to.)
Age: 26
Ethnicity: Indian American
GMAT: 680 (Will Retake)
Work Experience
Job 1: 3 years, Tech Consultant for a well-known financial/analytics software company. Was a little more on the programming/tech implementation side, but great experience. Got to work with some major banks/financial institutions
Job 2: 1 Year, Big 4 Consulting company in their Federal Tech side.
Job 3: 0.5 Years so far, but will be about 1 year when I apply, One of the Top 4 Banks in the US, Am working in their software implementation side in Consumer Tech
Future goals
Short Term: Management Consulting
Long Term: Product Management in a Software Company. I would also love to get into a big Retail company like Walmart, Target etc.
Schools:
Reach: Harvard/Wharton
Midpack: Kellogg, Columbia
Match (?): Yale, NYU, Michigan, Duke, UNC, Cornell
I would love to apply this year as I'd like to start school soon and change my career focus.
PS. How much would my experience in Tech Consulting be appreciated when compared to Bankers/Consultants?

Firstly, nice handle! I am also a science nerd.
Secondly, with a 680 and no info on your undergrad and academic results, your schools will be tough. (Although I like UNC and Cornell for you.) To your question, tech consulting is very different from banking but the pool is still super-competitive. To stand out, it's helpful to have top stats so if you are planning to retake the GMAT, hopefully you can rock it.
Your goals are very interesting though and make for a good story. Call me! Let's talk. Link in profile.
