Hi all,
Could someone help me evaluate my profile for admission at the MIT MFIN & UT MSF ?

U.S Citizen (Indian & Sri Lankan descent)
Age: 21
Undergrad Degree: University of Texas at Dallas, Accounting, Top 10% (Very strong upward trend, All A's after Freshmen year)
GMAT : 720 (V42Q47)
Internship: 5 internships (Process Improvement at a small business, Price Modeling at a Fortune 500 company, Auditing at a Local firm, Accounting at a Fortune 50 company, and Tax & Technology at PWC)
Certifications: Registered to take CFA I in June
Others: Admitted into an Economics Fellowship in my junior year, which researches capitalism and it's effects on the global economy + the nature of financial markets.

Thanks,

MIT - I wouldn't consider you particularly strong. GMAT is fine, but not stand out for MIT. GPA is good, but you are at a satellite UT campus. Accounting isn't a particularly hard major. Work experience is nice, but not amazing.

UTA - stronger shot. You are in the UT system. You have a 720 which is good for them. You are domestic which is a plus. Lots of internships will look good to UTA.

IMO - Austin is the move.

MIT would help themselves if they accepted more US kids. Their employment stats would go through the roof. For some reason they have a ton of international kids. That's just how they do things. MIT profiles look like amazing GMAT's, T20 UG schools, well known internships at banking, consulting, science, etc. MIT just isn't going to accept good.

A friend of mine went there and his GMAT, work experience, UG GPA and life story was amazing. You can see this in the kids they profile.
