Background: 22 Mexican-American male from California
Undergraduate: 3.96 GPA in Business Administration with concentrations in economics and finance from a State School in California. I had the highest GPA for my concentration at my school and graduated in 3 years while working full-time on the graveyard shift
Test Score: Will be taking the GRE. I have taken two practice test with scores 313 and 316. I'm aiming for a 320, which is the highest average GRE published for a MSF program that I could find from The University of Texas.
Work Experience: I have been working for two years after graduating for a staffing company on assignment at Google. I have had some opportunities to lead groups and improve/introduce processes while here. I'm currently looking for something temporary in finance or accounting to beef up my profile and to get more relevant work experience.
Extra curricular: I've done quite a few activities throughout my life, but the only thing I've been able to keep up with consistently since starting college is dancing in a Mexican Folk Dance Group. I've been doing this since I was 4.
Post graduate goal: Entry level position in equity research. In addition, getting an MBA later in my career is of great interest.
Priorities in school selection: 1) Prestige 2) Placements
What schools should I look at and have a good chance of getting into? Some schools that I would be thrilled to attend include Texas, Vanderbilt, and WUSTL. Just below those are Boston College, Villanova, and Ohio State. And if all those failed I would consider Arizona State. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
