One additional thought--Keep in mind there can sometimes be an age bias in the top ten, and with your experience level, you would be a candidate for eMBA programs at many schools. If you have trouble getting attention from FT programs, you might look at the executive offerings as an alternative.

Not what I was hoping to hear but am aware. I live in the SF bay area, so berkeleys top rated ewmba program is very accessible. However, a part time mba will not get me where I want to get and so I know exactly why I am committed to get a full time mba. Yes US mba schools are very age biased and are skewing too young imho. My post mba salary may very well be lower than offers I have currently with apple (tech is hot!) doing what I am doing - but I need the MBA to align with my long term goals - am absolutely convinced of that. I was considering applying to INSEAD but that's another story.
Thanks for the feedback!

I am not sure exactly what you mean by the executive programs not being able to get you where you want to get. An executive or part time MBA is the same degree as the full time MBA, it just takes a different schedule since you are working while you are going to school. Many recruiters like interviewing part time and eMBA students because they know they can work hard and balance a busy schedule, but you would want to check with individual schools to make sure they allow the same access to the recruiters for PT and eMBA students that they allow for the FT students. Each school handles this differently. If you mean the eMBA degree won't get you where you need to get from the angle that it's not 100% immersive and your experience in the program won't be the same, then I understand. It is definitely a different way to do the MBA, but I wanted to point out that it's the exact same degree on your resume and on your diploma.

Thanks a lot Bryant! I am not sure Berkeley EWMBA is the best school for career switchers. I haven't heard too many Part Timers get recruited by the MBB. I am sure it could help me launch a career in product Marketing or Product Management at Google and bay area startups.
