Hi
Admissionado,
Kindly need your help to evaluate my profile:
- Indonesian, Male, 28
- GPA: 3.5/4.0 , Electrical Engineering degree from non top tier University in Indonesia
- GMAT: not yet taken, first CAT is 610 (before taking any prep course)
- TOEFL iBT: 105
- 4 years of work experience in a French multinational company (industrial automation) in Sales division
- 2 years of work experience in a Japanese multinational conglomerate company (manufacturing) in Marketing division
School activities:
- Head of extracurricular club for two years in a row
- Co-founded Smart Robotic club, then competed in National Robotic competition
- Opened and managed online accessories shop
Outside work activities:
- Active as martial art practitioner, won several regional competitions
- Marketing consultant for one start-up company in fisheries run by a friend.
Volunteer experiences:
- Member of Catholic Youth organization. Held several church events such as blood donation, free medical treatment, visits to nursing home and orphanage.
International experiences:
- Professional: International meeting with members all over South East Asia and Japan (4-5 times a year)
- Personal: I am eager to learn about new cultures from another country, thus every year I go backpacking to other countries in South East Asia for minimum two weeks per trip. My biggest achievement in this area is to go to Nepal for 1 month and hiked to Everest Base Camp.
Post-MBA goals
- Short term: Marketing specialist for South East Asia market
- Long term: Marketing/Management consultant
Others:
- Born and raised in small town in Indonesia
- I plan to apply for scholarship and loan for my MBA.
Target School: INSEAD in Singapore
My concerns are:
- My university is not a top university in Indonesia. Will a high GMAT score compensate for that? If yes, how much should I aim? Currently I am taking GMAT prep course.
- Weak international experiences.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward for your reply!
Thanks.
