Hi. and thanks for writing! You have some clear strengths to your profile. Regarding your question on work experience - it's a personal decision but it should be based on 1. how much potential for growth you see at your current company over the next couple years (through gaining significant new responsibilities, moving up vertically, or making a lateral move that augments your skill set), 2. whether an external move would add significantly to your skillset, provide leadership opportunities, and help you get closer to your career goal in finance.
Hope that helps! If you'd like to discuss further, I'd be happy to have a free consultation with you and you can register here:

Wanted to know my chances at a number of programs:

Work
2 years in corporate strategy (internal strategy consulting) for a large financial institution, with one promotion after 1.5 years
Extracurriculars - co-head of a subcommittee for one of company's affinity groups, providing consulting projects across company advising on new markets to consider entering; mentor to disabled high school boy for two years; taught math to adults trying to get high school equivalence degree for one year
Short term goal - Transition to asset management
Long term goal - Work in PE
Schools - Columbia, Sloan, Booth, Wharton, Kellogg, Yale, Tuck
I will be applying either a little over a year from now or a little over two years from now (fall 2018 or 2019) so I'd be 25-26 when applying and 26-27 when matriculating with 3-4 years experience. Should I consider other industries for next 1-2 years or better to stay in current role for strongest resume? Assume strong essays. Thanks!
