Hi
GmatMike1234, thanks for writing in. You know, it's always a bit of a guessing game with such a brief set of stats, but there's a lot to like in your profile. You've got a solid GPA from a good school, an amazing professional trajectory at work, and a thoughtful plan in terms of both future goals and schools you'll target. Right now, I'd say that there are two things that really stand out to me as objectives to tackle as you get ready to apply. The first, and perhaps most obvious, is the GMAT score. Since you're
GmatMike1234 and posting on GMAT Club, I'm guessing you are aware of this and doing your best to improve it. I'd love to see you break a 700 if at all possible, and of course, the higher the better. (Ideally, you are meeting or beating the averages for the schools you are targeting.). If you can't quite do that, you could also try the GRE or perhaps seeking a waiver at certain schools if that's still a possibility next round (a bit TBD right now). The second, and often the most overlooked, is the personal side of your application. You're in a relatively crowded applicant category of white males in consulting/financial services, so it is important to do your best to stand out from the crowd and get the ad com rooting for you. You're more than a set of stats, and the ad coms want to admit people who will make their schools a better and more interesting place. Execution matters...whether in the essays, resume, short answers or interviews...so don't pour all your effort into the test and then rush to complete the applications at the deadline. Happy to get a little more detailed if you want to set up a consultation to describe a bit more.
Good luck!
Warmly,
