Thanks for your reply,
I took a break for a while and started my preparation again in March. My main focus was on Verbal and I have purchased e-gmat course as well for the same.
I have only given 1 mock and scored 570. V28 Q41 which was last week.
I was out of touch for Quants hence the low score. I missed the last 2 questions actually due to some connectivity issues.
Since then I've focused on Quant and I'm confident of atleast a 48.
I'm a little scared regarding verbal cause I've been working really hard to improve on that.
Out of 36 Questions in my mock I got
24/36 correct where my first 11 questions were correct and 16 were right out of first 20. Also I got 7 Questions in a row incorrect. Do you think this would have had a significant impact on my score? Because I was atleast expecting a V32-34. My SC accuracy was 11/14 CR was 5/9 RC was 8/13. On analysing I realized that I did make some silly mistakes.
Do you think I can still improve to a V35 atleast in next month or so. And Q50 is my target making my overall score to 700.
I plan to give it in early August but I'm flexible and willing to push it till August end. But when I see such scores in the mock I feel low and lose confidence.
In my Scholarinum which is the practice tests given by E-gmat. My verbal percentile keeps fluctuating from 60-80/85. I feel a little confident about SC but CR and RC seem very uncertain to me. Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi yashmehta27101995,

If you've taken just one practice CAT/mock so far, then there's no way to know whether this 570 is an accurate measure of your current skills or not. Raising a 570 to the point that you can consistently score 700+ will likely require at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study though - and you'll have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level. That having been said, an early August Test Date would be just 1 month from now, so you will likely need to consider pushing back your Test Date. If you're not planning to apply to Business School for another 1-2 years, you still have plenty of time to continue studying and improving though - so you shouldn't 'rush in' to an Official Test Date if you're not close to your Score Goal.

1) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?

Hey Rich, thanks alot for your feedback.
So the score which I got was GMAT mock 5.
Today I have given one more mock, GMAT mock 6.
My score improved drastically to 710. Q48 V39
A few points:
1) This is definitely a little escalated as I had seen a few questions before. Not much in Verbal but Quant definitely so I'm not reading too much into the score
2) Regardless, the difference in score could be attributed to my preparation in Quant. I spent considerable time on Quants. I was confident of Q46 regardless. My aim is to push it to Q50
3) I'm a little satisfied with my verbal performance. I think one major difference was that I got 27/36 correct and moreover the errors were evenly spaced out so I think the places where you make the errors do make a considerable difference.
4) My RC definitely improved. Out of 4 passages I got only 2 incorrect and 1 was a mistake which I figured just after marking it so it could've been even better. RC still is very uncertain for me
5) CR is still a weak point and SC I do make mistakes but I feel I'm still confident with SC.
6) I plan to take my GMAT late August so that I can apply for a few EEO available and build my application for the remaining 2-3 months after it

Just a small suggestion if you can give, My plan ahead is to work more on Quant so that I can push it to Q50 which can easily improve my overall score by 10-20 points from my current state. Also do you think I should focus on SC which is my strength more than CR which is comparatively weak?
Also I have noticed RC is a huge game changer and my comfort level in it is in between SC and CR. I think 40 days from now, considering I can spend 3 hours per day on average should be sufficient for my Quant to improbe from 47-47 to 49-50. And along with that some smart studying in Verbal can push me to my target score.
Also I don't mind taking 2-3 attempts till December to get my score upwards of 700. But obviously if I get it in the first attempt it'll be easier for me to work on my applications. The reason why I want to give it in August is so that I can get that monkey of my back and remove the exam phobia
If you can shed some light on it, it'll be really helpful
Thanks
