Hello!
Thank you for whoever takes the time to read this.
UNDERGRADUATE:
Top 15-20 Liberal Arts School. Considered a 'Hidden Ivy' (does this even matter? Is it more of an Ivy-or-not consideration?)
Major in Economics
GPA: 3.42
EXTRA-CURRICULARS:
Participating in iMentor program (going into 3rd year mentoring high school junior). Various other experiences regarding mentorship/children. Student Government in college.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
2 years in HR/Recruitment at an Education Non-Profit (2 promotions, 1 from intern - not sure if that counts)
2 years TFA (also enrolled in M.A.T. program - current GPA 3.8)
GMAT:
IR 7 (81%)
Q 47 (67%)
V 38 (85%)
690 (86%)
***I have taken the test only once, and studied for only one day. I imagine a re-take will yield higher results.
GRE:
V 165 (96%)
Q 162 (87%)
AW 4.5 (72%)
CAREER GOALS:
General Management in the world of K-12 education.
MY QUESTIONS:
* Obviously I am not a shoo-in at any of the Top 20, but do I have a chance at Wharton/Harvard/Tuck? Are there any of the Top 20 where I might be more of a 'Consider' as opposed to a 'Weak Consider'?
* I am currently going into my 2nd year of TFA. Would it be wise to apply right out of TFA, or should I plan on getting an interim position as a buffer? For those of you familiar with TFA, I am very interested in the MTLD role and am wondering what AdComs would think of it.
* Should I submit my scores for the GRE, GMAT, or both? GRE is a little higher, but I understand GMAT is more respected. Of course, my low quant/overall might put me out of contention.
* Can I confirm that it is acceptable to retake the test, and that it would be in my best interest to do so?
Thanks for any and all comments and advice!
