Hi All, (
mikemcgarry )
I am planning to give additional 2 months of my life to GMAT preparation. After getting 650 on my first attempt 1 year back, I retook few months back and scored 620 and 610 (while I had scored 740 and 710 on Exam Pack 3 and 4, a week and a day before respectively).
For the preparation I have decided to purchase
Magoosh Live Class + Premium. Live classes are 2 days a week. So I am seeking some suggestions from the experts and the past
Magoosh Students on how shall I work with
Magoosh to get maximum benefits for my GMAT. I am dying to get a score of 700+.
To talk about my current standing, I have issues with verbal, especially in RC. I tend to some hard questions right and some easy questions wrong i.e. there is no consistency in accuracy. Further, I miss questions in SC as well, as I feel the question is testing some alien concept during the exam. Finally, I have got stuck on Q44 on my last there GMAT Exam, though I have got Q48-49 quite some times in
GMAT Club Test.
To talk about my schedule; I got to job at 6 AM and return at 3PM, after which I can prepare for my GMAT. So I also want to ask for some tips on how to stay energized to prepare effectively, as I feel extremely tired after returning from work. Please suggest some way.
Thank you.
Hi Mck2023
Sorry about how things went with your GMAT. There could be a couple of reasons for the drop in the score. Please go through the article below to find out the probable reasons.
Having said that, it would be too early to conclude anything without knowing the actual reason. To understand what could have led to the drop in the score and to suggest you the plan of action, I need a little more information about your GMAT preparation. I would like to know more about
- the way you prepared till now (your study strategy)
- your approach of solving questions
- the resources you have used
Answers to these questions will help me guide you in a better way. And I personally suggest to go for the retake only after you prepared well and are 100% confident.
Having said that, I would like to have a one-on-one conversation with you. The discussion would be mostly around the answers to the above questions, the approximate time you have for the next attempt and the plan of action. If you have an ESR with you, that will be even more helpful to get the insights about your performance. You use use the link below to schedule a call with me.
