Hi there! Thanks for reaching out! I do think you have a shot at Haas & it's good that you are thinking ahead. You will ideally want to hit a minimum of 730 on the GMAT. That's about where the Haas average lands, and in your case you need a high score to outweigh that GPA if at all possible. If you can exceed the 730 average that would really be the ideal, but you at least want to do your best to hit it. The CFA could help, especially if you can't nail or exceed the 730 target.
The fact that you'll be in the Peace Corps is great -- see if you can get some quantifiable accomplishments under your belt to show that you've had impact there. Having Deloitte on your resume will also be great -- and hopefully you'll gain some strong recommenders there who can vouch for your abilities & potential (which will also help outweigh that GPA). The start up experience has a lot of potential as well and again you want some numbers that will show the specific impact you've made there.
Definitely reach out to us if you'd like some help thinking through your strategy & how to make the most of your time between now & when you apply. We offer an Advanced Planning service for this very reason -- to help candidates like you who are thinking ahead & want to do everything they can to strengthen their application. If you reach out to Claudia at
