It absolutely will not look bad. If you get a higher score, that's great, they'll use that one. And if you get a lower score, you can just cancel. I say go for it if you're willing to put in the time!
Good luck!

Took my GMAT yesterday and got a score of 720 Q50 V37 and IR 4.
Though,I used to get 740+ range in GMATprep,I understand 720 is very well within the range. But low IR is bit concern.
I think I can better my performance (740-50 and IR6+) without much extra effort (ie less than 50-60 hours of effort) and some exam taking skills (My notepad marker just did not work in IR section and replacement took 3-4 mins and 2 mins panic!)
About,my B school targets(top B schools in India,INSEAD,LBS).720 is around 10-15 points higher than class average but my CGPA (7/10) is on lower side.
I would rate my work-ex better than average (own startup and exit) though.
My question is will it look bad to Adcom if I submit my score of 740-50(better IR) in second attempt despite having 720 in first attempt?
Time and money wise cost is almost very less at this point of time. Getting a lower score has no cost as I will cancel my score then.
But would a retake with 10-30 points improvement+1-3 improvement in IR justify the retake in the eyes of ad-com?
