are there any re-applicants on here?

Yup, I applied in 2012 and was rejected. Giving it another shot this year! Fingers crossed...

Going from 610 to 690 on the GMAT I anticipate you'll have considerably better luck :P

Good luck

Thank you! haha I sure hope so. Good luck!

I know that feeling all too well.

Take some solace in the fact that they tend to get easier as you're typically telling the same stories just from different perspectives or with different emphases.

The adcom says the group interviews are optional! Well, that's great...because i was thinking of ditching Ross because of that. Group interviews remind me of those Asian cut-throat interviews for a job, where everyone will be trying to say something, to outdo each other. etc. Clearly, that's not an interview, but a horse-race.

I believe in the adcom though, when they say if you don't participate, it won't hurt your application... Because yes, i plan on not participating.

I have a small doubt here..are the group interviews "By Invitation ONLY"..?? I am not in US..Ross will conduct group interviews at some international locations but it will happen only for Round 2. I am considering if it is worth waiting for R2..!!!

Are you saying you 'prefer' group interviews? Um...during the last cycle, i did an on-campus interview in AA, and it was great. I think one-on-one interviews are a better option. I wouldn't wait for R2 just because of an interview. If you think you have a good file, i would say turn it in now in R1. There is a monster called 'waitlist'...so you might end up being considered for admission in R2 either way. Just do what works, what gives you a strong file, not issues about interviewing.

All interviews at Ross, if i'm not mistaken, are by invitation only.

Hey applicants,

What do you all think about Ross's location? I know Ross is in Ann Arbor, but Detroit will inevitably have some hegemony. Wanted to know what you all thought about the role Detroit's situation would play regarding access to recruiting and even entertainment.

Interesting thought.

Ann Arbor will provide all the entertainment you need (and then some), assuming of course that you're a good fit for Ross. The school really rallies around culture that exists at the University. As far as recruiting.. the only downside I can see is if the airport has serious issues, then it may be harder to find a flight. I don't think Detroit has done too much recruiting for Ross students, aside from the big 3 who are still doing just fine.

I don't exactly "prefer" group interviews..but here is one concern that I have..I am in India right now and Delhi is one of the few international locations where Ross will conduct group interviews during R2...so an R1 submission should appear in negative light to the Adcom as if I am trying to "escape" the group interview (I am not planning to visit Ross in any case)..Just my thoughts..!!!

As a UofM alum (UG), I can speak to the entertainment side of things. Detroit will not play much of a role in your life in AA. You'll be busy and more than entertained by what AA has to offer during the school year. You may wish to take in a sporting event (a Tigers baseball or Red Wings hockey game) if you're into sports or hit the casinos if you're into poker, but otherwise Detroit isn't going to be worth the 45 min. trek.

However, if you're focused more on the social entrepreneurship/nonprofit side of things, I could see the possibility of frequent interaction with Detroit as those opportunities abound in the city (and Ross has programs/clubs dedicated to such things), just know that it won't be all that "convenient" to travel.

As for recruiting, I believe most things will happen on-campus and while Detroit will offer some opportunities, most will be originating from Chicago, NYC, and the West Coast.

Add me in guys, even I would be applying for Ross R1 - its kinda dream college for me - have started with the essays and looking forward completing it well in advance.

Being an Indian, non-availability of co-signor free loans gives me tension - but if cleared, I do not know how would I manage but I would try my best to attend Ross.

Guys,

In the application, Page 11. Additional information, it asks us to provide any additional info if required.

What kind of info are they expecting or what purposes can we put forth ( For Ex: Can the purpose be the need for a scholarship? )

How to best use this option? any ideas.... please.

Thank you,
Ravi Kiran
