Quick question about goals - I have a business idea (tech/web) and I am working towards it. I want an MBA before I launch this product because I have already tried starting my own firm and failed. I am briefly explaining my business idea in the essay. Should I say a) that I want to launch this product and start my own firm straight after graduation or
b)say that I want to work at a company for few years before I launch my product.

If a) then I have been hearing a lot about schools taking the employment statistics into consideration and might look negatively on those applicants who want to start their own firm post graduation
if b) Should I talk about my business plan then? does it sound ok to say that i am working on an idea but will launch it after getting few years of work experience?. Also, is it bad to say that I want to work at a startup without knowing how many startup companies actually come for recruitment.

I am almost done with my essays but i started reading forums etc online and got confused. I know this is kinda last min but I still have time and want to ensure that I submit the best application. I appreciate the help.

Hey guys,

Does anyone know when is the deadline for R2 on 2nd Jan..I dont find any time mentioned on their website? Normally its either 5 pm on the day or 11 59 pm. Anyone can shed some light on this will be really helpful?

On the website it just has the day, not a specific time:

Clearadmit says it is at 11:59 PM EST but I couldn't find any "official" info.

Running out of time so re-posting, sorry...

Anyone else facing a problem with the ApplyYourself login?

I am facing problems with ALL schools' application portal that I'm trying to log in into. :-/

EDIT: This is the error I keep getting:

We are unable to process your login request at this time, please try again later or contact technical support.

I would just be honest. If you want to start it up right away then you can talk about the resources that Ross has for entrepreneurship. If you want to wait a few years then talk about what kind of a company you could work for that would give you good experience before you start your business.

Hi,
I'm In for round2. I submitted my application and now waiting for my recommender to submit his recco. He just came from vacation so i'm not possitive if he can submit it today. Do we get extensions for recco ? a week or a 2 ? Do i need to get extension by sending an email to Adcom ?

Any way i will be calling my recommender but i really don't want to push him hard. I think you guys can understand my situation :-(

If the recco doesn't reach on time will they push my application to round 3 ? My other recco is in..

Please advice..

Did everyone have their official scores from GMAC sent to Ross directly or do you know if it is okay to self-report as long as you have your official scores. i.e. Total, Quant, Verbal, IR and AWA? In the app I see it says "note that your official scores must be provided to us prior to the deadline for which you are applying".

When I originally read that I figured it just meant I needed to have my GMAT and official scores back to me and could self-report, but now am freaking out because I never had my scores sent to Ross.

I had my official scores sent. If I were you, I would go on to mba.com and order a report to be sent today to Ross. I'm sure you'll be fine if you do that.

It seems as though they got wise and recently added the time to the admissions deadlines page (https://www.bus.umich.edu/Admissions/MBA/AdmDates.htm) - so it's official, you have until 11:59pm EST!
