It’s a 4 hour and 3 minute drive from AA to Evanston. It’s worth it.
1. With recession around the corner, Kellogg will be a better brand
2. You’ll have access to network in Detroit and Chicago
3. Kellogg is among the best for consulting
4. Kellogg will let you participate in recruiting
(680 GMAT may be held against you at top consulting firms)
I know at least one who changed career to consulting from the Kellogg PT program, however he isn’t at any fancy firm-so I wonder if the career switch added any $ value to his existence (after spending $150k)

Have you talked to students doing the part time programs? 4 hours each way might not sound bad as a weekend roadtrip, but as a full time employee and part time MBA student, you might not have the 8 extra hours a week free to commit to that commute. My friend doing PT at Haas right now already doesn't have the he wished he did to participate in extracurriculars. Even if you did 'have' the time, are there things you could be doing with the cumulative hundreds of hours of driving saved staying in Ann Arbor that would add more value than the difference between Kellogg and Ross' PT MBA brands? I bet the answer is yes. Congrats on two great admits!

Thank you everyone for the responses.
Ross is absolutely a great school and very convenient from a logistics perspective. Only, I have noticed that consulting firms do not hire big time from Ross. For them, Kellogg is the go-to school. Ross is known for Operations and Supply chain and you will see Amazon hiring in dozens. I am just afraid the investment won't give me the expected results. thewaitinggames You are right about the 8 hour drive. Adding to that, some courses take place on weekdays (evening). That would be a pain I may not want to experience JohnJohnJ

No gain without pain ;)

Also, an MBA while working may be a pain in itself.

It sounds like you’re not comfortable with the 8 hour back and forth trip, so looks like you have made up your mind
