greatest = x
so middle = x-1 and least = x-2
so x-2+x-1+x=S
3x=s+3
x=s/3+1
sum = 3x+3
or say
3*(s/3+1)+3
S+6

Let three consecutive integers be x-2, x-1, x

Sum of these three integers = 3x - 3 = 3(x-1) = S

From above equation, x = S/3 + 1

With least integer as x, the three consecutive integers now become: x, x+1, x+2

Sum of the new three consecutive integers = 3x+3 = 3(S/3 +1) + 3 = S+6

S = (x-2) + (x-1) + x = 3x-3
Next condition
Sum= x + (x+1) +(x+2) = 3x+3 = (3x-3) + 6 = S + 6 . So answer is D

$$S = (x - 2) + ( x - 1 ) + x$$

Or, $$S = 3x - 3$$

When the least number is x the three numbers are -

$$x , ( x + 1 ) , ( x + 2 )$$

$$S_x$$ is $$3x + 3$$

Thus, in terms of S, the sum of three consecutive integers is -

$$S + 6$$ as $$3x - 3 + 6 = 3x + 3$$, Answer must be (C)

let mean of S=x-1
let mean of S2=x+1
sum of S2=3(x+1)
sum of S=3(x-1)
3(x+1)-3(x-1)=6
S2=S+6
