Hi,
Can anyone give me a favour of the following question from OG2020? Cannot figure it by myself with the given answer explanation.
Q: Native to South America, when peanuts were introduced to Africa by Portuguese explorers early in the sixteenth century they were quickly adopted into Africa's agriculture, probably because of being so similar to the Banbarra groundnut.
I am confused between the following two options:
A: peanuts having been introduced to Africa by Portuguese explorers early in the sixteenth century and quickly adopted into Africa's agriculture, probably because of being
B: peanuts were introduced to Africa by Portuguese explorers early in the sixteenth century and were quickly adopted into Africa's agriculture, probably because of being
I have underlined the difference between those two answers, can anyone explain to me that why answer B is correct? rather than answer A?
Many thankssss, Sally
