Aurelius187 I agree with BB here.
It is like ONE ZILLION PERCENT more important for you to have a competitive GMAT and apply to an earlier round than worry about your age.
Develop the product and then go to market if you will.
Depending upon your nationality you might need to go to R2 but I strongly recommend no later than that.
31 is a bit on the older side for US schools but does not present a problem for INSEAD, HEC and IMD. Or really most of the European schools, even LBS and IESE.
I have a an Indian female client with a 710 aged 35 going to IESE in the fall with $40K Euros. So don't prioritize this as the issue; otherwise you are just speeding up the rejection that you will inevitably get. INSEAD requires deep introspection and a lot of time; allow yourself 3 months to complete these 7 essays (and rec talking points, CV.)
INSEAD is not reapplicant friendly and so do not make the mistake of reapplying if you are dinged; they are firm in their decisions and it takes a strong fundamental shift for them to reconsider like a big increase in test score, promotion, international work projects, etc.
Hope this helps! Trying to talk you off the ledge here. Please join a study group and get a tutor; the average GMAT is 715 and if you don't have a strong leadership profile, why would they choose you over candidates with better test scores and more expansive leadership profiles? I am not trying to be rude but save you time and disappointment.
Unless your profile is amazing and/or citizenship is severely underrepresented they won't be so flexible in these things. And the standards sharply increase in R4.

Hi there,
I'm looking to apply to Insead in round 4, july 24th deadline. This is to late unfortunately for scholarship application. Is it possible if I get admitted to apply for scholarships when I'm already a student?
Hope someone knows if this is possible.
Thanks
Meaning every student who applied to INSEAD and got admitted, would do the same? or you think they "forgot" to apply for a scholarship? LOL. NO.
Moreover, R3 and R4 are very small rounds, that take just a few people to replace the ranks of those who have dropped or changed their mind about the applications. Sometimes, very rarely, if those people had a scholarship but dropped out, you could get some $$. However, it is not common and you cannot count on that. I would say admission is rare and tough in R4 and is unlikely, unless you are some amazing HBS material.
If you get admitted, and you are given an offer, you can accept it or you can decline it. It is final and if you accept it, you cannot negotiate/get/apply for a scholarship later. EVERYONE would have done it otherwise and it would be a bazaar of people trading, negotiating, and arguing.
Hmm I see. So applying in R4 is a bit of a longshot? I scored a 660 on the gmat, I'm redoing it in July to score 700+. My profile is Ok, but by no means a HBS hotshot. So there are some dependencies.
I'm currently 31 and I'm worried that a top tier mba might be out of reach if I get to old. The gmat took time and therefore I could not get into the early rounds. Not entirely sure what to do next.
