Hello, diask. I have two thoughts on the matter:

1) Why not ask the school to which you are applying? You would not have to get into specifics, but it should not hurt to ask whether having a score close to 600 would be seen as favorable to your application. No one knows better than the people at the program itself.

2) Run your query by some admissions consultants to see what they suggest. It is their job to offer advice to people to help these candidates get into business school.

That should get you started. Good luck.

You should most likely send the score. If the score is not required by the school, sending one that's close to what is considered "solid" for that particular school will only work in your favor. Plus, it sounds like you have hedged appropriately with respect to the verbal side.

You can definitely contact the school's AdCom though you should note they tend not to give direct answers. They will argue "send if you think it'll best represent your skills" or some crap like that.

What is the middle 80% range for this school? That's actually more relevant than what is considered a high score. If you're within that range, I'd go ahead and send.

Thanks everyone for help!

I will contact my school and try to find out if I should still do it. But I am getting more convinced that I should send my scores.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if I should attach my GMAT score, which is 570 (Q49, V22) into my application, as it is not required to have a GMAT to get into my school, but it is a good addition for your application if you have a high GMAT (over 600), it is literally written like this in the application form. So I was thinking is 570 a good score in this case, as it is quite close to 600, but it is still lower, and I can just say that I did not do GMAT and apply without it. I am not a native English speaker, that is why my verbal part is so bad, but I did quant pretty good, which I guess is more difficult. A also have an IELTS certificate, which shows that my English is not that bad, I got 7.5, or does it not matter for the admission committee? So I would appreciate if anyone shared an advice in this situation, as I have no idea myself what to do.

Hello diask,

Thanks for writing in.

If the school in question considers a 600 and above as a strong GMAT, you should definitely report the 570 especially since you have a good quant score.

All the best!
