If one does not receive an invite for interview in round 2 , is there a chance that the candidate may be invited in round 3?? Can anyone plz tell ?

Yes, apparently there is. On march 4 you can be in the waitlist for an interview.

Then I guess you are out.
if you are not invited for an interview until march 4 then it means you either are in the waitlist or you are out.

Correct. Those decisions will not be released until March 4th.

...Breathe...and relax! The status has been there since a few days after you submitted.

If you search "under review" in this thread you will see a lot of us had the same status update.

Sadly, we will all just have to wait a bit longer. Definitely enough to drive anyone crazy though!

Maybe waitlist without interview for Round 2, to hopefully get an interview invite for Round 3?

That's optimistic; I would imagine that the class gets filled by Round 2. It's too bad they don't release data on admission by Rounds.

In that case stanford wouldnt waste time money and energy on conducting a Round 3!! I think they are more optimistic than us.

Exactly. This status change does not mean anything. On the Stanford website, it says that after about 2 weeks everyone's status will change to "under review," but this does not mean anything. I know it's stressful, but all you can do is wait for an interview invite. That is the only indication you will get regarding the status of your application.

Called the admissions office today on a query, and also asked about interview invites. The guy just said that many others are still to come; it really takes them a while to go through the applications. Also said that it's not over until March 4th ---> fuels the anxiety of many applicants out there!

I agree. Stanford also said that they will send out invites daily so you would have expected a few to trickle out to gmatclub members by now.

At least you have a couple of acceptances to rely on. I guess Stanford would be the icing on the cake!?

Anyway, best of luck and hope to hear some good news soon.
