Guys, need help to decide between these schools.
Background: 750 GMAT, Indian Male, Past Exp: Program management roles at startups
Post-MBA: First choice is Management Consulting (MBB or EY; not sure if any other firm sponsors) but the most probable option I see for myself is Tech firms: Program management/ Strat & Ops roles or Product management at maybe outside FAANG firms like Salesforce, Expedia, and Unicorns.
Major concern is the
80K cost difference (40K scholarship & 40K living cost). This is important since a major part of the cost would be financed through loans and the remaining from personal savings.
Would love to know from people who went to similar schools at full price.
Does NYU offer a significant advantage for these industries to justify the additional costs?
Culture/Location fit:
- I enjoyed my interactions with both the schools but found Stern students to be more active and accomplished.
- Stern definitely has a location advantage and opportunity to do an in-semester internship.
- Would love to live in NYC but considering the cost, I think it might be a good idea to lower my cost at Cornell. Post-MBA jobs are anyway in big cities.
- Lower cost at Cornell gives more peace of mind.
